America’s Fabric – Mission Statement
Mission Statement
The mission of this blog is to carry forward the legacy begun by Laura Ingalls Wilder, to capture and preserve the stories of ordinary people living through extraordinary times. Like Wilder, I believe the enduring power of her work lies in its authenticity, in the simple yet profound stories of everyday families whose lives quietly shaped the American experience.
Today, our nation continues to be built and sustained by the working class, the men and women whose labor, perseverance, and spirit form the very fabric of America. Yet, too often, our stories go untold and our lives fade from memory within a generation or two.
This blog seeks to change that. It is a place to celebrate the voices, values, and experiences of the people who make this country run, the dreamers, builders, caregivers, and doers who hold communities together. Through storytelling, reflection, and conversation, I aim to honor our shared history and preserve the narratives that too easily slip away.
I dedicate this blog to you, the working class, the heart and soul of America. Together, we are the threads that bind this nation’s past, present, and future.
